When I had just turned 18, my father took me to register to vote in Dougherty County. He said, “This is one of the most important things you’ll ever do in your life.” He was right but I’m not sure that attitude pervades the U.S. today

He wants God removed from everything in our Christian country. Face it...he AIN'T Barry anymore.
I trust in GOD. No other. But, given the choice between John Fitzgerald Kennedy and his "Hope in the Pope and barack hussein obama and his "Alliance to Allah"..........I would take confessing through the little screen to someone who I do not know any day. Even if he moonlighted at The Enquirer Magazine.
Someone dies to become a martyr to get 47 virgins? That is only a month and a half of healthy sex by my calculations.
Is their eternity only a month and a half?
Saddam and Bin Laden must be saying, "What do you mean I have used up my reward? I wanna go back to my sand dune......I am changing religions."
(Not really a reply to Kay's article, but that is the only political avenue at the moment in the paper.)
"Sheila, I don't know about you, but I'm about sick of hearing about the Republican primaries/caucuses in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. If you listen to the media, the opinion of the voters in those three states is the only one that matters and that Romney is a shoe in to win the nomination because he has already won Iowa and New Hampshire. There is still South Carolina to go, but that is just a formality. I was wondering how these three states could be so important, so I looked into what it would take for one to win the nomination at the Republican convention. There will be a total of 2286 delegates at the convention and one would need 1144 votes to win. If you look at the number of delegates from each state, Iowa is ranked #39 with 28 delegates; South Carolina is ranked #43 with 24 delegates; and New Hampshire is ranked #52 with 12 delegates, just edging out Guam, the Virgin Islands, Northern Marianas, and American Samoa. So, if one were to win all the delegates from each of the three states, he would have a total of 64 votes. Right now going into the South Carolina primary, Romney has a total of 14 delegates. I'm not much of a mathematician, but I believe that's quite a ways from the 1144 he would need to win the nomination. Any idea why these three piss ant states are so damned important?"
Would you make a kamikaze flight into The Twin Towers for that?
Not me.
Abu al-Zarqawi died and George Washington met him at the Pearly Gates. He slapped him across the face and yelled, "How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive!"
Patrick Henry approached, punched him straight in the face and shouted, "You wanted to end our liberties but you failed!"
James Madison followed with a back-hand, kicked him in the crotch and said, "This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defense!"
Thomas Jefferson was next, and he proceeded to beat al-Zarqawi with a long cane and snarled, "It was evil crap like you who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence, dammit!"
The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason, James Monroe, John Hancock and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the terrorist head honcho.
As al-Zarqawi lay bleeding and in pain, an Angel appeared. Al- Zarqawi wept and said, "This is not what you promised me, Allah! I was promised bliss in Heaven with 72 virgins!"
The Angel replied, "When I told you guys about 'Allah', I said specifically that there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you in Heaven. What did you think I said?"
