Child killer commits suicide at Jackson prison

A Canton man who pleaded guilty just days ago to killing a seven-year-old Canton girl committed suicide this afternoon at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification prison just across the Lamar County line in Butts County Thursday afternoon

his life was pretty much over anyway, he was going to have a long hard life behind bars or someone else was going to possibly take his life

Its so easy to be cold towards a person that has committed such an unforgivable crime in yours and in my eyes ! That is the awesome love of Jesus Christ to be so merciful to be able to forgive this man of his sins and give him the opportunity to spend eternity in Heaven ! I don't feel pity or sorrow towards this man for the crimes he has committed, but I do feel pity and sorrow cause I don't feel he had taken the opportunity to ask forgiveness of his sins and the fact that he took his own life assures me he will spend eternity in hell ! Though her family will miss her greatly, GOD has another angel in Heaven ! I am so sorry to the family for the loss of their little girl and I pray that GOD will bless their sanity until they meet again ! GOD bless you all !

Some people are upset that he took his own life and never served his "life" sentence.... I disagree with them. He did the only half honorable thing of his pathetic life, pled guilty and admitted to what he did, and then punched his own ticket to meet the Devil. I believe there is a hell and this guy didn't wait around on our taxpayer dime to get there. He didn't sit around in a cell the rest of his life developing a cult following of well-wishers (yes folks this does happen!). Good riddance and y'all rest assured that his eternal punishment is far worse than anything dished out here in this life.

those questioning someone else killing him or he wouldnt make it because someone would kill him. No they wouldnt. This is a high profile case. He wouldnt be around anyone. He would be escorted by a 3 or 4 man escort. He would not be in population. Isolation/segregation is where he would have stayed during his 10-16 week duration at Jackson and then he would have been moved next door to the High max prison where he would never be around another inmate at the same time. 23 hr lockdown. It is a liability for the state to put him in population even if he felt comfortable being in it. They automatically put you in P/C. Sydney dorsey, Ralph David Albernathy jr, Alamine, tri state creamatory man, etc.

Too bad he didnt get to spend a little time in prision. I was hoping that he would get raped a few hundred times as well as routinly getting the crap beat out of him.... Nothing can ever bring their daugher back but it would provide a sense of justice for that POS! Then he could have killed himself and gone straight to hell.

I just wonder how in the world did he hang himself in a holding cell? The only thing in there is a stainless steel sink, commode and bed with flat mattress and no pillow. He was 6 ft tall or more. It could have happened with his hands in handcuffs and somebody helping him. Prisons are their own little cities. They have their own laws. I would have rather see him get fried in the electric chair. Of course, they ruled that inhumane.

He had clothes on. They issue you a sweatshirt, jumpsuit, socks, boxers, He was in isolation. This isnt just a regular holding cell at the lamar county jail. Did you know that inmates have hanged themselves using toilet paper before? How do you know that there is a stainless steel sink? How about concrete. How do you know that there is no pillow?

I had a friend that worked at the diagnostic ctr. for years , then retired. There are no bunk beds in a holding cell. If he was a midget , I don't think there would have been a problem. I am glad he is dead. He deserved to die not live and the inside took care of it.

The parents should have done more to keep her safe...this child should not have lost her life because of her parents negligence..so blame should be on the mom and dad and not the killer

I worked there for many years as well. The things i mentioned above are true. I didnt mention bunks. There are bars in front of his cell and there is a heave wire look through part at the top back corner of those cells. It is very easy to hang yourself.
What if he tied his sweatshirt around his neck and the top part of the bars and secured his feet to not touch the ground. He will be dead very quick. Ive seen people die there voluntary and involuntary.

Pjones, you are a complete idiot. You really should educate yourself about a topic before making ignorant posts. The child was with a babysitter because the mother was at WORK! She was raising the child alone. The father didn't live in the U.S. Last time I checked, being a single working mother and leaving your child with a sitter was not a negligent act. How was any part of that 'sloppy'?

Yeah, because we know the parents intended for there child to be kidnapped, molested and killed, right? Seems you are all weepy over the death of this child molesting killer, but not one tear for the child or for the loss of the parents. Wow...you are a sad piece of work. But, don't worry, I am sure you will get to spend some time with this guy one day. It may not be the most comfortable of arrangements, but hey, it will be your kind of people (child molesters, murderers, thugs, rapists, liars, etc).

Sheila, I think all prisons should issue ropes rather than sheets to those that harm women and children.
