Pfc. Jonathon F. Davis was killed in action Thursday in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan. Davis, 20, was from Griffin.

My sympathies to his wife and his family. His sacrifice is greatly appreciated and his memory will be honored.

May God bless his wife and future birth of their child. I read that he was 82nd Airborne, the same unit that my Daddy was attached to on D-Day, June 6, 1944, when he jumped behind the German lines in France.

I am glad that we still have Heroes still willing to fight for our freedom such as this Brave American Airborne Hero.

Now is the time that I wish I could join my brothers in arms to fight these heathen infidels as they call us, but Agent Orange has nearly destroyed my body from Vietnam days, but as I said may God bless this young wife and her future child, and America always, my LORD, in JESUS CHRIST name, I pray, Amen and Amen!
