This is not really the place to post this, but I could not find another area.
As I read today's newspaper (April 10), I noticed that so many of the cases in Lamar superior court on April 5th were "12 months probation" or "not prosecuted" or "24 months probation". See page 10B.
Having avoided prosecution thus far myself- I tend to have a full time job and church and family activities which leave me little time for any criminal enterprises- I find myself puzzled by the terminology.
But as I read the context of each case, I'm led to believe that these people are getting away with their criminal activities. Probation in my mind means no punishment....
Please enlighten me if I'm mistaken.
They courts let them back out on the streets for one simple reason, MONEY. The city or county can't collect any if they lock people up for their crimes. It's all about the money.
