Qualifying off to fast start

Qualifying got off to a fast start Wednesday with 12 local candidates paying fees by 4 p.m. Most were candidates or incumbents who had previously announced but one county commissioner drew unannounced competition.

Ronnie Chance is responsible for the extra money paid for specialty license plates getting diverted from its intended sources and put into the general treasury. If you have a plate celebrating your favorite college, showing support for breast cancer, etc, most of that additional money you pay does NOT go to the cause of your choice.
