Thieves have once again hit Hines Prescription Shop on College Dr. in Barnesville.
A lone male, wearing a hood, broke out the front door of the pharmacy early Wednesday and stole narcotics. There have been multiple such thefts at the pharmacy with no arrests made.
Sorry this happened to a local business couple trying to keep some townspeople employed and serve the community.
Oh wait. That was a waste of sentiment since the burglars could care less about people or community. Probably can't read either.
And no, before some of you nut jobs say I'm taking the side of the thief, I'm NOT. I hope they catch him and put him in prison for a while. Along with any others who've done the same thing. But if you saw the length that ambulances have to go to to secure their drugs, you'd likely wonder why the pharmacy's drugs can be stolen in less than a couple minutes?
It is terrible that these people are having damage done, losing valuable sales items, etc. But if the narcotics (surely a small percentage of their wares?) were in a good lock box/safe, then maybe the smash and grabs wouldn't happen?

I had a different take on the problem of toddlers getting into things. I simply taught him that lots of things that looked interesting were off limits, with no maybe. It worked.
Maybe it should be a signal to thieves that locked doors mean stay out. Maybe if we teach those thieves that there is no maybe about it, they would figure out that the only way to stay out of jail is to leave other people's property alone.
Locking up the narcotics better? They simply bring along better tools to get into them.
It's really bad when honest folks cannot lock doors and keep people out.
