Keith Morris, longtime Lamar County resident who is known for his acts of kindness, is in need of financial support in his battle against colon cancer. Family and friends will provide barbecued chicken for sale June 16 with all proceeds going toward Morris’s medical bills.

I just want to thank everyone who came out to the benefit on Saturday. We had so many people and couldn't get the chicken out fast enough and I apologize to people who had tickets and had to wait.

My Dad is so appreciative of all the support. This disease has been tough on him physically, emotionally, and financially. Seeing that he is not alone in this and realizing so many people want to help has lifted his spirits so much.
