This one is as old as electronic purchases. Years ago when I worked in retail people would try this. We never let the customer call their "bank" to tell us it was ok. For that matter, it didn't matter what the bank or credit card company told us. The only thing we went by is if our processing company approved the purchase, period.
~~ It was compassionate of Walter to kindly omit any reference to the scammed business. If I had allowed an elephant sized waddling tub of lard to rip me off, I wouldn't want my name printed either and would chalk it up as lesson learned.
What is there to say? If ANY cashier, clerk or owner is STUPID enough to fall prey to this scam, they DESERVE to lose their money!
BTW: Is that an Obama-Biden 2012 logo on that big ol' hoochie's hat? ~~
