And there you go. He confessed and the deed was done for money.
It didn't work out so well, I guess. Now a restaurant is burned down, no insurance money is forthcoming, and somebody is out bond money.
I'm sorry for Sherry, very sorry.
Security camera? As in the restaurant's own camera? If so this guy is really not the brightest!
Kudos to the folks who investigated this. I hope their evidence holds up in court. He needs to receive a severe sentence, and it needs to be publicized widely as a possible deterrent to other greedy fools.
Arson is not just stealing from the insurance company. It puts many people at risk. In this case, firefighters from 7 or 8 departments, police, a Mid-Ga ambulance crew, and possibly even passersby. The community is out a good restaurant (one of the few we had) and a number of people are either out of a job, or have had to change to one less desirable to them.
If anybody else was involved, I hope they are caught.
i'm sure the good'ol boys in lamar county will put this on the back burner for a while to let the heat die down, push him to join the local mega church, tell him to stay out of trouble for a year.the DA will take a plea deal and it will go the way of the other old money family crimes of lamar county.
It seems to me that Sherry would be entitled to the Insr. Money if she didn't have knowledge of the Arson......think about it.
....and M.C. Your comment is well taken, you would hope in modern times this wouldn't happen, oh hell.........who am i trying to fool ????
bahahahahaha.
I would certainly hope not. I'm sure a lot of hard work went into getting this case solved and now onto getting it resolved. Perhaps enough public disgust will keep this one on the front burner and not let it get hushed at all.
why does it scare folks like you so bad when someone points out the crooked ways of the good'ol boy network?maybe its because ya'll are slowly loosing control.no matter how bad you want to keep lamar county in the past its ever so slowly moving into the future.the good'ol boys know their numbers are srinking and will soon be a thing of the past.what will you do then?what will you do when you actually have to bond your kid out of jail or pay that speeding ticket? kinda scary ain't it?
I'm not a Rocket Scientist, but if the alleged arsonist admitted to the Fire Marshall that he set the fire, then wouldn't a Judge with common sense realize it is his job to protect the citizens and keep him locked up. Arson carries a long sentence, don't you think he would also be a flight risk ??
