Someone called me after seeing this and since I was on duty further south I could not get up there. I never heard anything further so I am really glad that others were available to assist. Although I am saddened that there actually was a loss of life, I am so glad that it was not a worse outcome. Thank you Dr. Moxon for all that you do!

The Monroe County Saddle Club has a search and rescue group that has helped in a lot of different kinds of situations, but this incident just happened to be seen by a club member who initiated a lot of calls for trailers to come pick up horses. Dr. Moxon and staff, and the combined efforts of Monroe, Lamar, and GSP officers did a great job of handling a bad situation. Twelve polo ponies did survive!
