A male pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle here Wednesday has been identified.

seems that the sheriff dept 911 was called 30 minutes before telling of a man in the road. did they respond and check on him before he was hit. I think not.

ok here is why i never make comments.I was wrong about the statement i made. Brad White called after he read this and said he checked the 911 records and that it was 2mins after the call that the man got hit. I apologize to the city and county. thanks Brad for being on top of things. so this will be my last comment on anything unless i have all the facts..

He passed away at about 10pm last night! Please pray for the McDaniel family and the person drivin the car... I know it has to be hard on them too!

It's ok Debbie, we all get things wrong sometimes. Can anyone tell me (if appropriate) who the person was? I live nearby and we saw the emergency vehicles. People were having to turn around in our neighborhood as the highway was blocked. This is a sad thing all around.

The name is not important. What is however, is that she is a young woman who will be forever affected by this tragedy. I personally know her and she is every parents dream. She is a OUTSTANDING student athlete and hopefully she will realize that this was not her fault and be able to put this behind her.

I agree with you No Mo Joe. I just hope that she holds onto her faith and understands that this could not have been avoided and she was not at fault. I am praying for all those involved.

Actually, I meant the name of the deceased not of the driver. The article had not yet been updated when I asked the question. My heart goes out to the young lady. I am glad she has much support.
