The words “Never Forget” have been used because of many hateful events, the Holocaust and the 9/11 attack being among the most notable. I have my own dark day that will not be forgotten; though the day was too horrible to contemplate, its tragedy brought a certain enduring light into my life.
That day was Sept. 15, 1963. Next year it will be 50 years since the bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., when four young girls were killed and many injured during the Sunday school hour. Three of the girls – Addie Mae Collins, Carole Robertson and Cynthia Wesley – were 14 years old. Denise McNair was 11.

Race itself is a tool of manipulation for those who seek to control others through fear, intimidation, and elitism. God created all the beautiful skin colors as it says in Genesis chapter 1. Why? Because He felt like it. It pleased Him to make people look different. And of course, the demonic elements in society use those differences to divide everyone up. But when you look at all the different skin colors that God created, be reminded of a field of flowers - all different colors, but each one beautiful because God made each one.
The evil perpetrators of that Church bombing so many years ago don’t stand a chance in the afterlife. God did not and will not welcome that scum with a “Well done - good and faithful servant!”. Instead, these individuals blasphemed the Holy Spirit with their acts and that is a sin that will never be forgiven.
Those poor children did not deserve their untimely deaths and their killers do not deserve a place in heaven. Evil people are defined by their evil actions. They injure and kill people who have done nothing to hurt others. They meddle, manipulate, and divide. And when that doesn’t work - they kill.
There is really only one race - the human race. If every human will simply love their neighbor the way Jesus loves us, all this enmity will disappear and the devil’s schemes will fail.
