Some of the vilest people I have known are those so called elitist liberals who try to manipulate the masses in an effort to obtain political power. The means of this manipulation is not to advance society but to degrade it. Their plan is to degrade the social and economic system to a point where they can use this “so called crisis” as a means to call for government intervention. Government is encroaching upon us more and more all the time, to deny it is ignorant. Every time the legislature convenes, it isn't to rescind laws, but to make more laws that further regulate us.
It is getting worse and worse, and you can claim the generic "rush limbaugh/ far right" lingo when someone speaks out aginst this excessive intrusion if you want to, but the core basis of the article remains as fact, and it is mainly due to the actions of liberals, not necessaraly Republicans or democrats. Government intrusion into our lives is NOT any type of positive solution, it is a hinderance.

Logic and reason are two of our greatest assets but when they are void of empathy and hinder service to those in need, reason becomes flawed and then becomes our greatest obstacle. I agree victimology can become a disease and thus hinder transcending adversity. When the ruling class in order to maintain economic power constructs an irrational mindset, then calls it sound reasoning or logical is what concerns me more. As long as, there are right wing propaganda power houses like FOX and COX media, the offset of left wing oriented media will be a necessity.
Left wing ideology is not designed to punish the producers but to insure that the human resource is not grossly exploited by the bottom line on a company’s spreadsheet. Wealth at this expense does a disservice to all. It is those who are demanding change which are calling for America to wake up and use their minds and learn that they are no longer alone. Together we can once again shift the balance of power in the interest of middle class America.
I am a liberal because I have no choice. I answer to a higher power and vision that says that “We the people” means that we help our brothers and sisters and that nothing else is more important, not even profit. I believe that Jesus would have agreed with this kind of logic. It’s not claiming the moral
high ground but just being real and answerable to what comes from the human heart.
Who will we turn to? How about a long, hard look into the mirror? It certainly wouldn’t be turning to corporate America or our country’s financial sector. In Washington, it was these kind of self serving special interest that got us into this mess in the first place.
Someone needs to step back and look at himself and his agenda before blaming others for what j his team is at least 50% responsible for.

It seems a bit extreme, even for the Barnesville paper. I can’t find any background on this William Smith guy so I’ll take it he’s of our local community. Yes it does have to do with religion. Not all religions are theologies. When the writer is using selective key words like: cult, indoctrination, religious ideology, morality, unreal religion. The writer has taken an approach as if liberal thought is a threat to the “religious right”. I brought Christianity into the dialogue because if the political right which embraces religious America actually did what “Christ” preached they wouldn’t feel their own individualism was threatened.

Where do you want to be Louie? Would you prefer to be a conservative capitalist winner with an ability to think for yourself and enjoy the fruits of your labor, or do you prefer to be a liberal socialist loser giving what little you are allowed to earn to some ruling party that is going to tell you how you are going to live and what you are going to get to live with. Our founding fathers were true patriots. I think they would be ashamed and disgraced by the caliber of individuals attempting to lead the great nation they created when the Creator was used to help them create it.

How true! The U. S. Supreme Court issued two bans on prayer in public schools. The first ban came in 1962 and the second was issued in 1963. The bans were the result of a court case sponsored in part by Madalyn Murray O'Hair. The ban not only outlawed prayer in public schools but it also banned Bible reading in public schools. Our schools, from only one generation of banning the Creator, are rewarding us now with ignorance in government of man trying to lead man without the help of God.

I’m no preacher and I certainly don’t know the bible as well as I should. But, if I’m not mistaken, the bible says if a man will not work he should not eat. Anyone feel free to correct me on that please.
Now more than ever we need God back in government and true leaders at the helm. We definitely don’t have that now. We don’t have leadership from a leader that bows to a Muslim King, we don’t have it from leaders that say we are an arrogant people to another nation, we don’t have it from leaders that cower to other nations and say there’s nothing we can do about it. We just plain don’t have leaders. All we have is people filling a position in an office while the rest of the world laughs now.

You cranked out a lot of quotes from individuals in American history. Many were made when a free and prosperous individual could only be white, male and a land owner. The irony of such statements always comes to mind. Boy, have things changed since then.
Who rules America is not who is in Washington but who holds the national financial wealth and net worth. The problem is 80 percent of the population is competing for 15.5 percent of the net worth and 8.8 percent of the financial wealth. What’s more alarming is the percentage is getting smaller. The top 10% of the population has 70% of the wealth compared to Canada where it is only 53% of the wealth.
I heard a wealthy man once say he would never worry about any threat from the poor because you can always hire one have to kill the other half. The middle class is blaming the lower class for all its wows thinking they are getting something for nothing and in many cases it may be true but it doesn’t compare to the up hill battle the middle class has to endure when the economic deck is stacked against him especially the cards are being dealt by the wealthy. Who do you really believe controls Washington? When Obama is elected based on grass roots politics it leads me to believe he may have a bit more of my interest at heart
