Local woodturner Niall Mathieson ran away with all the awards, including people’s choice and best of show, again this year at the Georgia National Fair in Perry for his massive wood turnings and carvings. This is his third year competing, and he had several other pieces place but they have not yet been officially announced.
Niall Mathieson poses with his oak column and maple bowl, top winners at the Georgia National Fair. His creations will be among those displayed at Lamar Arts’ show at the Barnesville Depot Nov. 2 through Dec. 15.

Congratulations Niall! Your mind & body never stop working and you can create the most unique pieces of art! You have always thought in the "large" sense and your work is very interesting.
