Roads, bridges atop SPLOST spending list

The Lamar County commission has produced a report on how SPLOST funds were spent during 2012, the first year of outlays from the new round of sales tax revenues.

Was wondering why Barnesville doesn't have a nice park like Airport park in Griffin ? Airport park has a 1/2 mile rubber walking/running track around a beautifully landscaped park with nice lamps and benches surrounding it. There is a nice Jungle Gym for children with benches and picnic tables for parents, and families. There is a nice parking lot, restrooms, and a drinking fountain. They even payed attention to details, trash receptacles surrounding the park, and the park is maintained, mowed, litter picked up, restrooms cleaned, and shrubs trimmed.
The Airport Park is always being utilized by citizens and their children.......Just wondering why we couldn't get this accomplished ? The recycled tire rubber walking track they rec'd with grant money is great for ages 2 to 99 for walking and is easy on the joints. Just hoping a Commissioner or Mayor, or City Manager reads this.

Isn't it illegal to have a SPLOST approved and not use the funds as intended?

Everybody check out Airport Park in Griffin and then you'll realize we've been shortchanged.
