Teacher killed in collision

Funeral services are tentatively set for Jan. 12 or 13 for Lamar County Primary School special education teacher Angie Tinker who was killed Jan. 4 in a two-car collision in Henry County.

Tinker, 55, of Zebulon died as a result of the crash that occurred at 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 20 and Westridge Parkway. She had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Atlanta Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

I knew John and Angie back in the 90's when we all attended the Church at Grace Hill together; Angie was the church pianist. They were also neighbors of my late friend, Franklin Jones. One thing that can be said about Angie is that she loved her Jesus, and there's no question as to where she's spending eternity right now. I really feel for John and Brad. This is horrible news to receive, but for the Christian, we can rejoice in knowing where she's at.

I would like everyone to know that Mrs. Tinker was a good person and had a very big heart for my child Samarr. I Would like the family to know we love her and she will be missed so much. The Smith Family.

I met Mrs. Tinker last year when my son was in her class. She was a little woman with a big heart and meant business when it came to teaching her kids. I was in her room on a regular checking up on my son's progress and just sitting and talking to her about special needs kids in general. She had a relative that was special needs and she would talk about them so you would not feel like you are the only one with a special needs child. You will surely be missed and never forgotten. I knew Angie when she taught in Pike County and she was so awesome!!!!!!! She was a very beautiful,sweet,ANGELIC person that could make a piano talk.
She will certainly be missed by everyone who knew her and by all the children she taught and has taught throughout her life.
May God bless her family and may her husband have a speedy recovery.

Mrs. Tinker was "one of a kind"! She was our "angel on earth" at Lamar County Primary. Angie touched the lives of so many children and adults through the years. I am so grateful to have been her friend and I will miss her very much!

Angie will be missed here on earth, but she can still make beautiful music with the angels in heaven. She was a fellow classmate of mine and loved her family. My prayers are with the family and friends in this time of loss.

Angie Tinker was one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life. She loved God with all of her heart. She loved everyone she met, and if you knew her, you loved her as well. She loved her family,husband, John, daughter Erin,was her bestfriend,her son Brad whom she was very proud of. She could give you a glimpse of Heaven with her with her piano playing. She will be missed terribly...I will never forget her and will keep her in my heart forever...My heart is broken over her passing.
