Picture the Barnesville train depot about 1875-85. A heavy baggage cart, made of wood down to its wheels, was trundled along carrying the bags and trunks of railroad passengers, day after day.
This baggage cart, c. 1885-95, carried baggage and freight from Barnesville depot onto the trains of several railway companies. After 18 years in the Old Jail Museum storage, it has been restored to its former appearnace by Mike Hudson (right) shown with Shanna English, OJM curator. (Photo: Laura Geiger)
