Thank you, Chamber. My family has always enjoyed Halloween downtown, but I've always thought it was sort of unfair of those families to be spending so much just because of where they live. I know they aren't required to do it, and do it because they are friendly people, but I know they spend a lot!
We used to donate bags of candy while taking the kids trick or treating. It never seemed fair that one street of residences were the only place allowed for that many participants. We now live nearby and also hand out candy.
Yes I agree, people around the county and city should all buy one bag of candy and donate it to the T-street people. Then there would be plenty. I know when I lived on Murphey Ave. just around the corner we wouldn't have the first person ring the bell most years.
The overflow of children is going beyond Thomaston Street for sure. It's amazing how many drive from Upson County to Trick-Or-Treat in Barnesville. I'm glad we purchased extra candy since we had a whole lot more coming to our house this year than last year.
