Two young men were killed one on his 25th birthday - early Friday morning when they were struck near the intersection of Grove St. and Veterans Pkwy. by a Barnesville police officer who had just terminated a chase of a suspicious vehicle.
Justen Sullivan of 107 Parkview Dr. in Barnesville and Quenton Byrd of 1475 Hwy. 83 S. in Forsyth died at the scene. They were struck by a BPD police cruiser driven by officer Terry Belvin, 44. Belvin was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and later released.
