Barnesville businessman, outdoorsman, scout leader, movie star and all-around character Stan (Hambone) Hamrick is recuperating at Spalding Regional Medical Center after undergoing colon cancer surgery Monday.

I do not know Stan (Hambone) Hamrick. I feel like I have missed out on a very special acquaintance. He has triggered so many positive remarks and good wishes. I too, wish Hambone a speedy recovery.

Sheila, have you never been to the only pawn shop in barnesville. Do you know where the pawn shop is? He has been doing this gig since i can remember. Not in the same location ofcourse but been at it for a while.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We wish you the best during your recovery. Like they said in a previous comment, "You can't keep a good man down". We love you cuz....... and so does Barnesville by all the comments posted. We will see you soon. By the way, His family really appreciates the outpour of support during these trying times. OH YES, Presidental candidate in 2012 sounds good to me..........

Hambone is one of Barnesvilles finest even if he is just a GOOD OLE COUNTRY BOY. Known him since school days. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and get yourself back to work so Barnesville can eat another meal.

Get well soon Stan. There are not enough words to thank you for the great things you do, especially for the scouts. It means so much to these boys, many who do not have a positive male role model. Many people in this community dont realize how much you do without asking for anything in return. Bryan misses you very much at scouts.

No. I have never been to a pawn shop in my life. Do they give anything for ex-husbands? If so, I may go. I want to go just to meet Hambone.
