With a large crowd on hand, opening night festivities at Trojan Field May 15 took on the atmosphere of a Hollywood gala.

“The atmosphere was incredible,” Trojan head coach Jason Strickland said.

I think the team looked great! Their are a few incoming freshman I hope to see playing varsity. The stadium is wonderful!! But are ticket prices going to go up? And why did everyone have to remain in their seats? The kids will stop coming if they can't walk around with their friends.

Wow, you'd think that there would be more people excited about the football program in LC. Brand new million $$$$$ stadium that is unparalleled in the region, and maybe the state in the AA Classification. A young, enthusiastic coach to coachem'-up...

Maybe the comments will pick up... Get passionate about your athletic teams folks...

I really didn't pay attention to the game, I was just so in awe of the new stadium. LAMAR COUNTY FOOTBALL RULES!!!

the kids wont be able to walk around this year with their friends. if they are going to go to the game they need to watch the game. maybe there will be a student section like at pike county, where the students support their team. i believe there will be alot of mad parents because they will actually have to sit with their kids and not have the police there to baby sit for them. i do believe that under a certain age they have to be accompanied by an adult.

I am excited about the new stadium and the young Trojans. I was, however, appalled at the number of people who brought lawn chairs to the game and sat in areas designated for wheelchairs.
