WHY? WHY? WHY? Just how damn difficult is it for someone to make sure that their children are BUCKLED UP? Endangering your own life is bad enough because somebody somewhere will be suffering when you die from your lack of good sense but children learn what they live and the adults are responsible for that. I seriously just DO NOT get it.
Look You dont know these people so dont judge. I am sure at one point in your life you have made a mistake and wish that you could change it. This family is a good family and should not get bashed for this. We live and learn and yes sometimes we learn the hard way. And to set the story straight everyone was buckled up except one child who admitted to takeing his seat bealt off. Parents can only do so much when driveing and trieing to watch the road along with tending to children. Hell my own children have taken their seat belt off when I was driveing does that make me a bad parent. Just to let you know the children are safe and sound at the home. Grow up and dont talk bad about people you dont know or talk about a situation you have no clue about.
Do you wear your seat belt all........ the time. Everyone is guilty in some point in their lives rather they was a child or a adult in takeing their seatbelt off while a car was going. Does that make me a bad parent because while driveing down the road one of my children take their seat belt off.
This isnt the first accident there either. You are right the other driver had to be going over the spen limit. Why doesnt she get charged with something to. Lamar County needs to step it up and catch the people who dont obey the speed limit.
I agree, I have 4 children and 2 are in car seats, and the other two know the cars not moving till everyone has their seatbelt on, what was she thinking!!!!!
why want they put a redlight right there because its hard to get across in the mornings i live on yatesville Rd and it takes me a couple of mins to get cross that intersection then when you do get cross you can't see a speeding car coming around that curve you have to floor your car to keep from getting hit there's been a lot of accidents at that intersection over the years
All those careing Barnesville people who have wrote in only to point blame.Should be ashamed of there self I have not seen were any one of them has wish them well or to offer there prayers for the children.Unless you were in the car you don't know if they was or was not buckled.Newspapers have been known to not alway's get there facts straight also.I'm not here to judge or blame anyone. But to send my prayers and get well wishes to all involved in this accident.
dont know but i got caught in that bull crap.. and they dont know how to direct traffic worth a fart by the way.
someone will whine about "ya'll need to put up a redlight" screw that.. obey simple traffic laws and you'll be fine. p.s. louis maynard for mayor 2010
Wallers People dropped the ball detouring traffic around this mess!!!
Had people driving around not knowing where or how far they could drive to get around this scene. Instead of allowing all the eye gazing officers on the scene doing nothing but bulls******* with other cops they could have spread out guiding traffic in a way they would be able to get around the accident. But no they would rather wait until they emerged back out at yatesville road and scream at them to turn around.
Unbelieveable, the children were not buckled in?
Do you have any idea how the First Responders hate to see children hurt when they are on an accident scene?
And these children could have been killed because someone was too lazy to refuse to start the car until the children buckled up.
It's that easy, parents!
"Kids, buckle up, you know the car doesn't start until I see those seat belts on."
Very, very simple.
all parients at some time has had thier own get out of a five point car seart,or a seat belt alone.so for some one to say all theses things is uncalled for .U sould spend your time praying that the kids and everyone one the car ac. is ok and just pray that this never happens to your family. To get a call and be told that your wife and kids are being cut out of a car. thank about that.
The children were buckled in,I work close by and was right there when it happened. I stayed with the 9 year old girl the whole time. She took her seat belt off while i was stand there, and so did the little boy.
it probably is hard to drive... pay attention to kids jumping around and screaming since they weren't buckled up.... light your cigarette while texting.
our kids were trained to put there seatbelts on and will throw a hissy fit and be in a panic if you even put the car in gear before they are buckled.this wasent hard to do kids learn pretty easy when there young you just have to teach them put forth a little effort
You was not in that car and just because the paper says the kids was not buckled in doesnt mean its true. Just to inform all the sorry people the kids was buckled when she started the car and one took their seat belt off while she was going. That doesnt make her a bad parent. You can not say they didnt not have their seat belt off because you was not there. And just to let you know the kids are fine and back at home. Its crazy that people want to bad mouth someone they have know clue about or about the situation and that they dont even bother to ask about the family or anything. What kind of county do I live in. This could happen to anyone even if you have kids and you think you teach them well and that they listen to everyword you say. Hell my own kids have unbuckled while I was driveing and your's could too. Dont Judge!!!!!
I agree there has been many times that I have had to dash through hopeing to make it because of others speeding comeing up over the hill. The county should do something abouth this intersection. What is it going to take to get them to put a light there. I am glad that the family is alive and able to move on. Prayers are with them. I will say that I am sorry to the family for all the stupid bad mouthing people in this community. Ignorence wont get you anywhere
Why would you worry about her cell phone and not her or her family? How would you Know rather she has a cell phone or not unless you took one from the wreck
My prayers are with the family. People should not be bashing this lady like that. I have two kids myself and it has been times that when the car takes off they have their seat belt on. When I get to my destination one of them if not both have gotten out of their seat belts. I was at the accident scene and it was not a pretty site. So the people that are leaving comments like I hope she didn't lose her cell phone and all that crap, need to grow up and look at the real picture. Just remember a wreck does not have no name on it. You never know when you will be in that position one day.
That is rediculous if u have children how many times have your children un buckled their belt and for everyones info the children had their seat belts on.
Are you people defending this woman kidding me? It's plausable that one of the children may have taken off their seatbelt, but ALL of them? I seriously doubt it. This is just another case of irresponsible adult behavior endangering the lives of innocent children. She absolutely should be ticketed for each unrestrained child in the vehicle. Perhaps if the children had been properly restrained, she would not have been so preoccupied as to not notice she was turning in front of an oncoming vehicle.
You must be one of the individuals who could not understand that he road was blocked and could have cared less about the emergency. Sounds like you were only thinking of yourself and not the effort that all of the individuals on scene were helping to get them young ones out of the vehicle in a timely manner to ensure their proper care. If you are from Lamar County you should have known how to take a different route instead of being told to do so. Say what you want to say but sounds like you were part of the problem and not part of the help needed in time of an emergency.
If you were not smart enough to go down Thomaston Street to Spencer and then to College Drive then maybe you should not be driving. If you were going to Yatesville then you could have gone 36 west to Suddeth Road, sounds like you are just have personal issues.
No, it makes you a totally irresponsible parent. Would you really expect anyone to believe that this is the only time the children were NOT wearing their seat belts. Get real!
What part of They all had their seat belt on are you people not understanding. Unless you know them or was in that car then you have no room to talk. You just better hope and pray that this doesnt happen to you or one of your family members. What is this community comeing to. Some people are just plain out stupid and you bashing this family are one of the stupid people in the county.
I did pray. God said, "I cannot understand Sheila. I gave the people brains to understand that automobile accidents can really mess people up. Then I had the government impose laws which caused seat belts to be mandatory. This was necessary because so many adults do not care enough about their children. I have put a hold on the manufacture of brains here in Heaven because so many come back unused. Unfortunately, they are often those of children."
That is good to know. Instead of young and unsupervised the seat belt violators are grown and stupid. Thank this caliber of adults when you have even more rules to follow.
FOR THOSE IN THE COUNTY THAT ACTUALLY HAVE A HEART AND ARE UNDERSTANDING AND CAREING JUST THOUHT YOU MIGHT KNOW THAT THE FAMILY IS GOING TO BE FINE. THOUGH THEY HAVE SOME INJURIES THEY WILL HEAL UP AND RISE TO THE TOP. EVEN THROUGH THE RUMORS AND BAD MOUTHING FOLKS IN THE COUNTY THEY WILL MAKE IT THROUGH. THOSE WHO ARE THE ONES DOING NOTHING BUT NEGATIVE TALKING YOU BETTER START PRAYING TO GOD TO KEEP YOUR FAMILY SAFE AND HOPE THAT THIS DOESNT HAPPEN TO YOU OR A LOVED ONE BECAUSE IF IT WAS A FAMILY MEMBER OR A FRIEND OF YOURS YOU WOULD NOT WANT ANYONE LIKE YOURSELVES TO PUT THESE PEOPLE DOWN. THINK ABOUT IT AND PRAY THAT GOD WILL FORGIVE EACH OF YOU
This is what I read in the article "Three passengers, two females and one male ages 20, 7 and 9, in Littleton's vehicle were injured. None were wearing seat belts and two had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel."
Of course now there are people who claim to know that the children were all buckled in, and somehow the reports to the contrary are wrong. I wasn't there, so I don't know for sure, but I based my comments on what was reported by the newspaper.
According to the above article ... NONE were wearing their seatbelts. Those children are 7 and 9 not 1 - 3 which is usually when children like to escape their restraints. Do not even try to convince the rest of us that this was just a freak incident where the kids just happened to be rebelling being in a seat belt while the driver (the mother if I recall correctly) failed to look for oncoming traffic and endangered them even more.
"Wallers People" These are the same deputies that Buice Hired the only difference is that none of them have quit and now they are able to work with BPD and surrounding agencies. You really need to get a life.
Driving a vehicle is one of the most easiest yet dagerous things that you do on a daily basis. Driving is very simple. Ppl not paying attn as to what is going on is dangerous. Its just like having a loaded gun. Guns dont just go off by themselves. Its takes someone to act on it for the gun to go off. Ill pray for all the injured involved but the party that was at fault should be charged to the fullest and have their license revoked.
tHE NEWSPAPER WAS WRONG AND ARE BEING NOTIFIED ABOUT IR. IF YOU CONTACT THE OTHER DRIVER SHE EVEN WOULD SAY THAT THEY WAS BUCKLED UP AND ALSO THE SEAT BELTS HAD TO BE CUT OFF OF THEM. IT WAS A SIMPLE ACCIDENT THAT COULD OF HAPPENED TO ANYONE. THEIR SEAT BELTS WAS ON!!!
They was buckled in and the seat belts had to be cut off. If you look at the picture good you would see why they had to be cut out and why they are alive because there is no way if they had no seat belt on that they would of survived. Thank you Lord for the safety of this family and I pray that their injuries yet minor heal quickly.Forgive those who talk down onto others Lord and pray that their family will never have to go through this.AMEN
This accident had nothing to do with a stop sign. It had to do with not paying attention and pulling out in front of another vehicle. Accidents happen and people have to be held accountable. Bottom line: Slow down and obey the laws.
Finally someone who understands the jest of it all... She is the stupidass who put not only herseldf and children at risk but the people in the oncomming vehical at risk! what if she killed those....
It happens. Mothers expect their children to buckle their own seatbeats. Sometimes they don't and sometimes they unbuckle their seatbelts. Sometimes drivers don't buckle up. It's foolish, negligent and against the law but it can happen to any of us. Geez, give this woman a break. She's suffering enough.
OK so no matter if they had them on or not why did she blow through the stop sign in the first place or what exactly happened. When i travel in that area it is pretty clear to me as to what the traffic signs tell me to do and where the yellow lines are. Just wondering what the excuse is in the particular case.
Ok i re read the report and see that she clearly pulled out infront of the other vehicle that was traveling southbound. Did she give any indication if the vehicle just dropped from space down on to the road or what. Unless the car stalled in the lane there is no reason for this to happen. I bet she has tried to beat the train before too going 55mph. You cant fix stupid.
The lesson here needs to be that if you are involved in an accident DO NOT remove your seat belt until police or first responders arrive on the scene & remove it for you. This way there's no question if you were buckled in or not. If you remove your seat belt before help arrives no one knows if you had it on or not. The police working a wreck always ask the first responders if they had to remove any selt belts from victims. I was an onlooker at the scene & can tell you that these people, all of them, are very lucky to be alive. I do wish them all a speedy recovery.
quit gawking at the scene of an accident tard. Move on and have respect for everyone. You are gonna cause a wreck or something. Even if you helped til help arrived gets your butt back in your vehicle and get the crap on. cut throught the median or something..
I never said I helped at the scene. I stayed perfectly clear of everything that was happening so that I didn't hinder any efforts to treat the injured. You make no sense!
LOLOLOL well keep moving then. I bet you come to a near stop when you see a wreck on I75 too dont ya. I bet ive blessed you out a few times and i dont even know ya.
i think it's a matter of time that a serious accident happens on north 341 and 36 bypass at fullers. trucks just pull out in front of traffic. ive had to hit the brakes several times to avoid being hit by a semi. but lets hope all continues well.....................
they still need to put a traffic signal right there because there has been a lot of accidents there over the years just like highway 36 and 341 they finally put one there at that intersection after so many car accidents
Was she speeding?
And did every one live one girl was screaming I heard and she was throwing up blood!
and she should have been charged with more you have to think she put all 5 in danger of dieing.
I think they should look more in to it!
Do not put up a red, yellow and green light. Wait until 2012. Need to put up a red light? New president. No re elect president. Georgia Department of Transportation said.
Excuse me... But, it states that niether one of the four occupants (including her) in the car had a seatbelt on, so that is not one child taking their seatbelt off, that is child endangerement! And also I would like to say that I do wear my seatbelt at all times and I require all passengers to wear theirs. Now yes I have had a child take their seatbelt off, but they had consequences to that action and had to put it back on.
Absolutely, that has happened to everyone but lets get real here and go back and read the article, not one of the 4 occupants of her car including herself, had a seatbelt on. That is not one child getting out of the belt! Do you really think that if none of them including herself had a belt on that she usually requires her children to wear them??? No...
I know the family and Just to let everyone know they all a doing fine minus the negative and bashing they see online and I think it is wrong of people to judge her or anyone else involved in the accident. She was not speeding she was blinded by another vehicle and simply thought it was safe to cross. Everyone was buckled the rescue even had to cut belts off of some. But for those careing people thank you for your prayers.
I was not there, and I am not pointing a finger at anyone.
As a former EMT, I will say this- I have never had to remove a dead person from a properly worn seatbelt. Everybody please wear your seatbelts and make sure they fit properly. Remember that many children need booster seats along with seat belts even after they have outgrown car seats. Parents. Please make sure your children's car seats are well anchored. The saddest thing I have ever seen was a dead baby in a car seat that had been ejected in the median of the interstate because the car seat wasn't strapped in properly. Drivers- slow down! It is a terrible thing to injure or kill someone because you are in such a hurry to get to the grocery store. No safety measures are perfect- it ultimately boils down to personal responsibility. My prayers for all who were involved.
I'm a firefighter and emergency first responder. No dead. I'm good. His name is (firefighter and EMT Basic) Charles Muise. Charles Muise was wrong. I have seen him. Two dead and 48 times wrong. That not good. He doesn't study.
