What happened to innocent until proven guilty? There has been no trial yet, and people finding others guilty without knowing jack crap about anything, that's just wrong.
A jury of ones peers is supposed to be untainted by biased thinking, one should always assume innocent until a prosecuter presents a jury with evidence that shows the party guilty. Until then, according to law, they are still innocent.
And if you're not on the jury, you have no right implying guilt, the evidence is not going to be presented to you, and thus if you do not have the evidence before you, you'll never know exactly what has happened.
Instead of saying you hope they die for what they did, you should say "If found guilty, I hope that they get the maximum penalty that can be legally handed down to them, be this life in prison or lethal injection".
I sure hope you're not selected to be on the jury. A smart defense lawyer COULD get them off scott free if it's found that a jury member had already determined "guilt" before a trail even started. Comments like yours could have them walking a free life, do you not realize this?
Comments posted in a comments section, spoken outloud in public, a defense attorney can use community comments in many ways....don't give them that extra ammunition PLEASE.
Man, the bald-ies sure have been stirrin' up the trouble. Blacks with dreads are stero-typed for crime. I guess whites that are bald can be stero-typed for crime now.
I {L.T.} being of sound mind would like to retract my comment. I would then like to rephrase it and say that “if” these folks are found guilty of so charged crimes, they should receive the maximum penalty set forth by the state of Georgia. By the way I do not intend on being on any jury. I am not a judge nor am I God so I am not passing judgment. I am however expressing my opinion in a public comment forum as you are. We both have the right to do so. You have given me a good idea since I want no part of a jury trial for these clowns. I will save my comments concerning this and if called upon, I will bring them to jury selection.
By the way my first two sentences were sarcasm towards you. {Just in case you didn’t pick up on it} How dare you tell me what to say? Your rhetoric spews of defense lawyer fodder. Well, here’s some ammo for the defense or poison for potential jurors. I “think” they are guilty as hell. Am I allowed to think this ANON? Last time I checked we were allowed to think freely here in our wonderful USA.
so Adams was 100% a meth dealer. What about the folks that was on here talking about him being this and that and it was all a big mix up. He would never do anything like that.. Bla bla bla.
ALLEGED...Just as Ronald Smith is the ALLEGED Murderer ..All is contingent upon the evidence presented in court, and up to a jury to determine based upon that evidence.Let's give everyone the fairness they deserve.
L.T. Yes, it's a free country and if you wish to give more ammunition to the defense, feel free to do so. It's people with attitudes like yours, that many who truly are guilty, get slaps on the wrists. They are then released in the public to do further harm, all because some ignorant person gave a defense attorney something to show that a person can not or did not get a fair trial.
Mock me with all the sarcasm you wish, you don't make the laws thank God, and since you feel it's your duty under "Freedom of speech" to remove "innocent until proven guilty" from your vocabulary, go right ahead.
One can't be selective about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, you proudly support it all, or support none at all. Picking and choosing which areas you support are very unpatriotic.
I believe you are a little confused because you seem to think that my thoughts and beliefs like it are the downfall of our judicial system. You must have me confused with some liberal lawyer or soft judge that believes in the legal loophole system that we have in place. I do believe in fair trials. Take a lesson from yourself.
“One can't be selective about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, you proudly support it all, or support none at all. Picking and choosing which areas you support are very unpatriotic.”
I respect your comment but I respect this one the most:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
I guess you do not understand "picking and choosing" so I can understand why you can't comprehend what I have been saying. You've proven my statement very thoroughly. Why don't you read the 5th amendment while you're at it?
You still do not understand. I am not judging. I am not God. I can not deliver any punishment. I am not trying to put anyones life or limb in jeopardy. I am expressing my opinion. I have the right to do so. I can believe in God. I can say there is no such thing as a supreme being. I can say i believe the tooth fairy created the world. you might not agree... but I can say. I have come to the conclusion that even if you did get it, you would never admit it so this point is moot...goodbye...
They say alleged for a reason. Alleged = accused but not proven or convicted
One can accuse anyone of anything they like, and when a person is arrested they are "accused" of a crime, but only that person or a jury can convict them, no one else. A person can plead guilty, or a jury can find them guilty.
No one else has this power, not the officers that arrested the person, not the judge overseeing the hearing. Only the person; or the person’s neighbors in the community.
Editors, Reporters and others who work in media say alleged because they understand this, most commoners do not even comprehend one iota of it.
