Hey Walter...Another dangerous intersection, eh? The intersections are not the driving problems in Barnesville, it's the idiot drivers. I would be willing to bet that only two out of ten drivers bother to give turn signals. Want to bet?? This violation needs to be inforced. It's the law as much as speeding is the law.
Once again: great pics....
We really need to thank all the first responders who come out each and every time there is one of these "accidents". I had an accident recently that was very minor and I thought it was overkill when they all came out for us, but since then there have been this rash of major accidents and I understand what they are preparing for every time the go out!
O.C.G.A 40-6-123 b and c:
(b) A signal of intention to turn right or left or change lanes when required shall be given continuously for a time sufficient to alert the driver of a vehicle proceeding from the rear in the same direction or a driver of a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction.
(c) No person shall stop or suddenly decrease the speed of a vehicle without first giving an appropriate signal in the manner provided in this Code section to the driver of any vehicle immediately to the rear when there is an opportunity to give such signal.
Unbelievable... What in the world is in the water in B'ville? Maybe, the folks that are filming the movie 'The Crazies' should have taken notice... Casting-calls could have been easy for the movie folks.
A turn signal was used in this accident by the car that was turning. Not by the car that was not turning. It was an accident. The driver of the third car did not see the first car turning she/he ran into car #2. Car #2 then hit car #1
Looking at the damage to the rear of the one car I find it a little hard to believe that the speed limit was being followed. I know that cars aren't made of anything substantial these days but that looks like more than 35 mph to me.
