Sotomayor's activism, unalloyed bias, clear in her rulings

They're doing the same thing to Sonia Sotomayor that they did for Barack Obama: packaging each of them in centrist, moderate gift wrapping when the truth is something different altogether.

Even the Washington Post, not exactly a bulwark of conservatism, had to admit it after poring over her judicial record.

"An idealogical detector developed at the University of South Carolina" - I'm laughing out loud and rolling on the floor. Now if you're going to develope an idealogical detector South Carolina is the perfect idealogically corrupt place to do it.

This was filling a vacant seat on the supreme court.

I think it was a choice we can live with since the power is spread among a few.

Darwin once said, “Evolution is a natural state.” This I believe not only in the physical aspect of living organisms but also in the domain of human rights. Whether the rights to be civil, political, legal, social, economic, cultural, collective or individual they must always be viewed in a manner that allows for, and reflects, the progression of human consciousness.
The conservative mind set, which should always anchor us in the basic ideals of our forefathers, so many times fails to recognize the fluid nature of the human existence. I am delighted that Sonia Sotomajor will be a Supreme Court Justice.

She researched cases to see all the details. Why is that a negative? I would want an appeals judge to look at the entire picture in detail.

She tossed out several things out of the hundreds and hundreds of cases she ruled on because others did not follow written law. That is exactly what the judicial system is supposed to do. A judge is not supposed to say, "oh, you dealt heroin so even though the guidelines weren't applied correctly you still have to do life".

All the conservatives are forgetting how President George W Bush wanted to send a convicted child molester and murder (of teen age girls) from Texas back for a new trial because Mexico didn't have a proper representative at the trial. The local people are forgetting how Milam said he was going to drop charges against Henry Abreu.

Milam and Bush are just as bad as Sotomayor. Let's clean up our local prosecutor first. That's where problems really start.

Lets face it people the Supreme Court is just as corrupt as the rest of the government wether you are republican or democrat. Take for instance in 2004 when Scalia refused to recuse himself when a good friend of his case was being heard in front of the Supreme Court.

Hasn't Washington fooled us for long enough, we are so blind arguing left and right politics while the people that should be representing us use there position for nothing more than power and money.

We do not hold our politicians accountable for there actions. They spend our money, except bribes from lobbyist and use public office for a resume credit. The days of a social servant who considers it there duty to look after the american people is long gone. Until corruption from our politicians on both sides stop this country will be continue to slide down hill.

Stop letting big business and special interest group run our country, view your reps voting habits and ear mark spending, decide wether they should be allowed back in office, wether they are on the left or the right. Then and only then will we be able to start climbing our way out of this mess.

Sure, with teachers helping to cheat on test scores to get more tax money? Which Scientists? The only ones I trust are dead.

That's right John. While all these fools preach negative stuff about a particular party or particular person, both the Democrats and Repubicans have been shafting us all for many years. We can't even get a good local group elected. If we can't fix Barnesville or Lamar we sure are not going to fix Washington. Most of the important cases to us are lost by the local prosecutor and judges, not by the Supremes. Maybe a small fraction of a percent of us are affected by what the supreme court does, but we are all affected daily and directly by what our local courts and prosecutor do.
