When Charlie and Tracey Muise wanted a roof on their porch, they went all out. It is built with state of the art photovoltaic solar panels that have cut their energy bill by about 30% a month. (video after the jump)

It's time for CLEAN,SAFE,FREE, & ENDLESS Solar energy to power America and our world!
How can people reach you if they want a consultation or want to install solar?
It certainly makes sense that solar is so much more cleaner and impact safe.
“Everybody’s talking about national security and lessening our dependence on oil,” said Charlie. “This is the way to do it.”
While I agree that solar power is the best way to move to a non-fossil fuel power sourse to fuel the country, as of right now it does nothing to stem the tide of oil imports. America does not burn oil to produce electricity. Our electricity is produced primarily by burning coal and natural gas mined in the US.
If we want to reduce oil imports we have to reduce the use of internal combustion engines in transportation. Until we can use the solar panels to charge an electric car, solar does nothing for oil imports.
With transportation being responsible for 70 percent of U.S. oil consumption, increasing fuel economy standards and expanding the use of biofuels would lessen the U.S. dependency on oil considerably. We (the gov't and interest groups) should also make a major push to automakers to produce plug-in hybrid vehicles that can run on gasoline and generally expand the implementation of hybrid vehicles.
I think the argument about solar power has become more about home energy and economics. If we produce more natural energy than we cut down on oil usage for household applications. We also reshape our economic system and cut down revenue being generated by power companies that use oil as a source for many things.
What is the phone number for Solar Source of GA.
In response to some comments:
"it does nothing to stem the tide of oil imports. America does not burn oil to produce electricity."
Technically, some utilities use pertroleum as fuel for electricity and millions of people use low-grade oil(mostly from Hugo Chavez) to heat their homes & businesses.
and your comment:
"to reduce oil imports we have to reduce the use of internal combustion engines in transportation. Until we can use the solar panels to charge an electric car, solar does nothing for oil imports."
Exactly, get rid of the poisionous I.C. engine(which is a very inefficient ~30-40% use of an finite energy source) Electric vehicles where America's preferred choice of vehicle power over 100 years ago, steam was second. Cheaper oil won out due to expensive batteries...that has changed now. Some cities have fleets of electric hybrids powered by Solar arrays!
WALMART, Kolhs, Frito-Lay, Safeway, US. Gov't (military bases, DEPT of ENERGY in Washington) have and are converting to megawatt scale Photovoltic electricity production!
The list of arrays is growing at 35%+ /year!!
Solar is now cost-effective(trading increasing utility bill for a fixed cost for ownership of your own long-life energy generation source).
Solar DOES reduce foriegn oil use today, their many today powered by their Plud-In electric vehicles directly with solar electric systems.
Even though it only a few committing to Amercia clean & sustainable energy future, it is the start of the way we MUST power our modern lives...or peril fighting over finite resources. The longer we wait the more costly, in lives and money, to transition to local, emission-free and truly sustainable energies
Solar energy CAN power everything and will.
If we wait, it may be too late.
It time to START freeing ourselves from dependecny of fatal, foreign, finite fuels and
use ENDLESS, Clean, Safe, Quiet, Reliable,Safe and yes, FREE Solar Energy. WE can own TRULY clean and SUSTAINABLE energies to power our homes, businesses, AND vehicles.
Look UP,I feel GOD is trying to get us to see the answer.
It's available locally and MADE IN AMERICA
daily.
