Stone wins; Whitworth, Devane in runoff

In the Barnesville city council election Tuesday, November 3, challenger Mark Stone defeated incumbent Cecil Butch McDaniel in the Ward 5 race.

In Ward 4 voting, Larry Whitworth was the top vote getter followed by Robert Neal Devane.

Whitworth and Devane will settle the issue in a runoff set for December 1.

In Pike County, the SPLOST referendum was handily defeated. [Full Story »]
