Accused killer Teresa Mangham Burousas made an appearance in Pike County superior court Tuesday.

Burousas was scheduled to be arraigned but mumbled she had no plea when questioned by Judge Christopher Edwards. The judge then entered directed pleas of not guilty for her on counts of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. [Full Story »]

As reported yesterday, state fire marshals have, in fact, confirmed the weekend fire at the home of Teresa and the late Buzz Burousas near Concord was deliberately set.

The home was the scene of a July 1 shooting death. Buzz Burousas was shot twice and killed. Teresa Burousas is charged with his murder. She feigned an attack on herself to cover up her role in the slaying, authorities have said. [Full Story »]

Pike County deputies and other authorities are investigating an apparent home invasion at 560 Caldwell Bridge Rd. near Concord July 1 in which a man was reportedly shot to death and his wife savagely beaten.

Pike County coroner Terrell Moody identified the dead man as 60-year-old Jimmie (Buzz) Burousas Jr., son of former Lamar County chief magistrate Jimmie Burousas Sr.
